Most drugs that are on the market today are mainly beta blockers that alter the function of the targeted organ. If you’ve ever looked through the "Physician’s Desk Reference" some of the side effects from the drugs are worse than the cure intended. Scary at best. More and more people are looking for alternative ways of dealing with illness that doesn’t carry the stigma of undesirable side effects.
A better approach to healing might be to recognize that the human body already knows how to produce its own healing chemicals to combat disease processes. Today’s nutrition researchers usually are looking for ways to support the body by re-introducing those same substances that, for some unknown reason stop being manufactured and shut down failing to provide an adequate defense when they are needed. The body is constantly being bombarded by environmental toxins, pesticides (sprayed on our produce), antibiotics and hormones (given to animals which we then eat) plus other intrusions to our physical well being that are probably too numerous to mention. Even the water supply that is provided to us (with good intentions, of course) is doing us in, so to speak.
So what do you do? You must take responsibility for your own health and look for ways to neutralize and combat the unwelcome intruders (bacteria and viruses) that seem to be ubiquitous, and find ways to support the good guys (beneficial cell fighters) to supply the correct knockout punch to insure your survival. When the immune system is compromised discomfort and disease develops. Finding a way to prevent that from happening should be your number one goal.
